We are surrounded with beautiful and varied scenery including rolling hills and cultivated farmland. A short walk from the Country Hearth in several directions will lead you to the edge of a field. Just over a mile east is the New Holland Park which hosts live entertainment throughout the summer including a craft show in June, an Independence Day celebration in July, an antique car show and a BBQ competition, as well as music most Wednesdays and weekends.
The Country Hearth B&B makes a wonderful home base for your thrifting and antiquing. We’re very close to several vintage, antique, and thrift shops here in New Holland, and just over 10 miles (20–25 minutes) from Antiques Capital USA. Within a comfortable walk (as long as you don’t buy too much to carry back!) you’ll find: Tannery Antiques and Screaming Lion Antiques (both at 148 East Main Street; 0.5 miles or 10 minute walk).
Even crowded places like Kitchen Kettle Village in nearby Intercourse, PA, get into the spirit of the season. VIsiting in the fall is an opportunity to enjoy foliage around the countryside and a variety of unique fall activities in New Holland and throughout Lancaster County, PA. In October, nearly every roadside stand is bursting at the seams with pumpkins, gourds, and butternut squash for sale. Plus, when the nights start to get chilly you’ll be able to enjoy the fireplaces throughout the inn!
