Common Rooms

Guests have shared use of three common rooms during their stay.

Gathering Room

Filled with natural light during the day, the Gathering Room is a bright and multipurpose space. We have three rectangular tables which can be brought together in different combinations. One table is set for four, while the others are set for two.

Each morning the tables are set for breakfast. Unless pre-arranged, we will setup for each traveling party to have their own table with the first course on the table by 8:30 a.m.

Throughout your stay, beverages will be available just inside the door of the Gathering Room. A small refrigerator will offer a selection of bottled and canned drinks. There is a Keurig and Lancaster County Coffee Roasters single-brew cups, as well as hot water and a selection of tea and herbal tisanes.

In the Hoosier cabinet you’ll also find plates, flatware, cups, mugs, and other self-serve items for your use at any time during your stay.

Also in the Gathering Room is a bookcase with a wide variety of board games that you’re welcome to play either in the common rooms or you can take them up to your room.

Finally, our gift shop display can be found just inside the Gathering Room door. We offer keepsake ornaments and stoneware mugs (made in the U.S. by Deneen Pottery). Newly available are candles from Turtle Hill Candle Company including our unique rosemary and lavender candle. We occasionally add other items, so be sure to check it out while you’re here.

Hearth Room

The original “walk-in” cooking hearth is the focal point of this warm and inviting foyer. In cooler weather, you’ll be able to enjoy the flames of the gas stove. A bar-height table and stools are great for that afternoon cup of tea, working on a jigsaw puzzle, or playing a game.

There is a minifridge with freezer for your use. You’ll also find our “extras cabinet” in the Hearth Room. Here we try to keep a small selection of those little things that you’re sure you packed, but somehow didn’t make it with you to your room.

A small desk holds menus for area restaurants and an assortment of flyers for local attractions are kept here as well..

Library

Just off the Gathering Room is a cozy living room we call the Library.

An eclectic collection of books are available to borrow during your stay, and the gas fireplace and around-the-corner position make it a favorite for the early birds and night owls alike. It’s also a great place to enjoy classic party games that don’t require a table. Be sure to check the corner cabinet for our copies of Scattergories Categories, Monikers (based on Celebrity), and several more.
